Five Matches Without Victory for Nairobi United After Bandari Stalemate

Nairobi United's difficult start to the 2026/27 FKF Premier League season continued on Sunday after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Bandari FC at Police Sacco Stadium, leaving Patrick Aussems still searching for his first league victory with the club.

The result means Nairobi United have collected four draws and suffered one defeat in their opening five matches, a disappointing return for a team that invested heavily in recruitment ahead of the campaign.

Expectations were high following the arrival of several experienced players, but the results have yet to match the ambition surrounding the club.

Sunday's stalemate offered another example of their struggle to turn promising moments into maximum points.

Nairobi United could hardly have made a worse start to the match. Bandari took the lead inside the opening minute when former AFC Leopards midfielder Said Tsuma rose above the defence to score with a powerful header.

The early setback unsettled the hosts, who struggled to develop their attacking play during the opening stages.

Bandari also threatened through the movement of Harambee Stars forward Lawrence Okoth, forcing Nairobi United to work hard defensively.

The hosts gradually found their footing after the visitors dropped into a deeper defensive shape.

Their improvement was rewarded in the 30th minute when Mark Kithome finished a well-constructed attack to bring the score level.

Nairobi United went into the break with renewed hope, but they were unable to turn that response into a winning performance after the restart.

Aussems introduced fresh legs in an attempt to change the contest, including bringing on Harambee Stars midfielder Mohamed Bajaber.

However, the substitutions did not produce the decisive goal needed to secure the hosts' first victory of the season.

The draw leaves Nairobi United with five matches played without a win, adding to the pressure on Aussems to find a solution.
