Fenerbahçe Twice Come From Behind to Stun Liverpool 3-2 in Champions League.

Fenerbahçe came from behind twice to beat Liverpool 3-2 in Istanbul on Wednesday night, ending the Reds' 100 percent record in this season's Champions League with a late header from substitute Vedat Muriqi.

Liverpool led through 19-year-old Trey Nyoni, who scored his first senior goal in the 25th minute. He volleyed in a dropping ball after Virgil van Dijk's pressure forced a weak header from Archie Brown, and became the club's youngest maiden Champions League scorer. Fenerbahçe levelled four minutes later through Mason Greenwood.

Alexander Isak restored Liverpool's advantage in the 69th minute, heading in Cody Gakpo's cross shortly after he and Florian Wirtz came on as substitutes. But Fenerbahçe equalised four minutes later when Brown tapped in unmarked at the back post from an N'Golo Kanté cross following a short corner. Muriqi then outjumped a crowd of Liverpool defenders to head in a deep cross from a throw-in in the 79th minute for the winner.

Manager Andoni Iraola had made five changes to his starting line-up. The defeat came after Liverpool conceded three goals from set-pieces and dead-ball situations, and left the Reds with their first loss in this season's league phase. It was also the first time Fenerbahçe had won in the competition this season.

Nyoni was named Liverpool's man of the match despite the result, leaving Iraola with questions over defensive organisation as his side look to bounce back in their next fixture.
