Tottenham Hotspur moved up to 12th in the Premier League standings after beating Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, completing a second consecutive league victory.
Spurs have nine points from eight matches, having won twice, drawn three times and lost three.
Their latest result was particularly notable given their long struggle to win league matches at Chelsea's home ground.
The visitors had to wait until the closing stages to establish control of the contest.
In the 77th minute, Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders punched a corner into his own net while attempting to deal with pressure from Jan Paul van Hecke.
Chelsea's hopes of recovering were dealt another blow when Cole Palmer was sent off in the 80th minute.
The England international received a second yellow card after an earlier booking for a challenge on Mateus Fernandes.
With Chelsea down to ten players, Tottenham found the space to secure the result.
Mathys Tel produced a fine individual run from around halfway before finishing with a low shot in the 87th minute.
The victory continued Tottenham's recent improvement under their current campaign.
They had beaten Coventry City 3-1 on Monday to claim their first league victory of the season, and Saturday's result gave them back-to-back wins.
Tottenham's position has improved, although they remain four points behind Chelsea, who sit fourth on 13 points after their home defeat.
The result also ended Chelsea's unbeaten home league record this season.
Palmer's dismissal adds to the disappointment for manager Xabi Alonso, as the midfielder is set to miss Wednesday's Carabao Cup last-16 match against Liverpool.
