Premier League legend Alan Shearer has delivered a major title prediction ahead of Sunday’s high-stakes clash between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield, asserting that the Reds will officially enter the championship conversation if they secure victory over Mikel Arteta’s side.

Speaking ahead of the crucial encounter on Merseyside, the former England striker highlighted a growing sense of momentum within Andoni Iraola’s squad following a string of resilient performances across domestic and European fronts.

Liverpool enter the marquee fixture riding a wave of confidence. Having secured impressive results against Brighton in the league and battling through a tense Carabao Cup tie against Chelsea in midweek, the Reds have shown clear signs of adapting to Iraola's high-octane tactical demands.

Shearer noted that a victory on Sunday would close the gap on second-placed Arsenal to just three points, fundamentally altering the narrative surrounding Liverpool’s domestic ambitions for the remainder of the campaign.

In contrast, Arsenal arrive at Anfield under immense pressure to deliver a response following an embarrassing midweek penalty shootout exit to Fleetwood Town in the EFL Cup.

While Mikel Arteta’s men hold a strong position near the top of the Premier League table, Shearer emphasized that visiting Anfield is the ultimate test of character following a public setback.

The pundit warned that any lingering vulnerability could be ruthlessly exploited by an energized Anfield crowd.

With title rivals Manchester City dropping points recently and the top of the table tightening significantly, Shearer believes the timing is ripe for a new challenger to make a definitive statement.

Predicting a tightly contested score draw, the iconic striker maintained that a victory for either side would send a massive psychological message across the division.

As Sunday’s clash approaches, the tactical battle between Iraola and Arteta promises to serve as a defining benchmark for both clubs' silverware aspirations.

Whether Liverpool can convert their building momentum into a statement win or Arsenal can silence their critics on Merseyside remains one of the most compelling storylines in English football.
