Michael Carrick expects to still be Manchester United manager on Tuesday despite Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Chelsea.
United lost at Stamford Bridge after a second-half collapse. Morgan Rogers broke through to score on 50 minutes, then Lisandro Martinez was sent off for two yellow cards and conceded a penalty which Cole Palmer converted.
The result left United without a win in nine games in all competitions. It is the club's longest winless run in 38 years. United sit one point above the relegation zone with seven points from nine league games.
Carrick was expected to be sacked after last week's 3-0 home loss to Bournemouth but was given more time. Asked by TNT Sports if he will be in charge for the Champions League game against Roma at Old Trafford, he said: "Yes."
"We've got to move forward," Carrick added. "We had a lot of good things, especially in the first half."
United host Roma on Tuesday having lost two of their first three games in Europe and sitting 20th in the Champions League table.
