How Brian Chonjo Inspired Kenya Police To Victory At Afraha Stadium

Brian Chonjo Otieno delivered the decisive moment as Kenya Police FC defeated Shabana FC 1-0 in their FKF Premier League clash at Afraha Stadium on Monday.

The midfielder struck in the 13th minute, producing a powerful finish from outside the penalty area that gave Police the advantage they needed to claim maximum points.

The goal came after Police regained possession following an interception by Shabana's Sanday Herbert.

The Law Enforcers recovered the ball quickly, with Samuel Quansah combining with Chonjo before the latter advanced and found the right side of the net.

Shabana goalkeeper Pavelh Ndzilah had little chance of stopping the effort, leaving the visitors facing an early deficit.

The Glamour Boys responded almost immediately when Brian Michira sent a dangerous effort towards goal.

Police goalkeeper Job Ochieng reacted well to push the ball behind for a corner.

Chonjo's contribution was cut short later in the first half after he suffered a head collision and required medical attention.

Eric Zakayo eventually replaced him, but Police continued to threaten.

Zakayo nearly doubled the advantage in first-half stoppage time when his effort from the left struck the far corner of the crossbar and bounced back into play.

Elvis Rupia also had a goal ruled out for offside as Police looked to increase their lead.

Shabana pushed forward after the interval, but their efforts to find an equaliser were repeatedly frustrated by the home side's defensive organisation.

Kevin Omundi and James Mazembe combined to create an opportunity for Michira shortly after the hour mark. However, a Police defender blocked the resulting effort to preserve the lead.

The visitors continued searching for a way through during the closing stages, but Police held firm.
