Who is Ceadach O'Neill? Arsenal youngster set for debut in Carabao Cup
Mikel Arteta press conference after Arsenal 2-0 Everton

Mikel Arteta is considering handing Arsenal youngster Ceadach O’Neill a first-team debut against Fleetwood Town this evening, leaving fans wondering all about the latest academy graduate.

Gunners supporters have grown used to seeing talents from the academy handed chances in the first team, with Max Dowman, Myles Lewis-Skelly, and Ethan Nwaneri all afforded competitive debuts by Arteta in recent seasons.

Spotted in first-team training ahead of the Fleetwood game, O’Neill is set to become the latest teenager to make his senior debut for Arsenal, with big things predicted for the youngster.

Who is Ceadach O'Neill?

Ceadach O’Neill is a Northern Irish striker who is in line for his first senior minutes for Arsenal against Fleetwood Town in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.

O’Neill first earned headlines when he made his senior debut as a 15-year-old for Linfield in his native Northern Ireland back in 2024. Shortly after his first minutes in men’s football, Arsenal offered the forward a trial, before promptly signing O’Neill.

In April 2025 O’Neill signed his first professional contract, shortly after becoming eligible for the first time after turning 17. Already capped four times by Northern Ireland at senior level, the 18-year-old was named on the bench for FA Cup fixtures against Wigan and Southampton last season.

Northern Ireland quickly moved to tie down O’Neill for the rest of his international career, with the striker pursued by the Republic of Ireland to switch allegiances. After two appearances in friendlies in the summer against Guinea and France, O’Neill became locked in following minutes off the bench against Georgia during the last international break.

Capable of leading the line or playing on the wing and even as an attacking midfielder, O’Neill is described as having plenty of pace while being able to deal with the physical demands of the men’s game. With 16 goals in 41 appearances for the under 18s, O’Neill was moved up to the under 21s, where he has scored two goals in eight matches.
