Arsenal Preparing January Move To Sign £42M Striker

According to The Sun, Arsenal are considering a January transfer for Club Brugge striker Nicolo Tresoldi, despite interest from Serie A powerhouse AC Milan.

The Gunners were expected to bolster their striking department last summer, but they only made one signing: Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis for £34 million.

The Greece international has four assists in all competitions, however he is presently sidelined due to a hamstring injury sustained while playing in the Nations League.

Arsenal currently possesses Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres as specialist forwards, but the latter has made only a few Premier League appearances this season.

So far, the Swede has made starts in the Carabao Cup and the Champions League, but he has yet to prove his worth. He has failed to hit the back of the net this season.

This has sparked suspicion that Arsenal may join the transfer market for a new striker, with The Sun reporting that they are planning a winter move for Brugge star Tresoldi.

The German youth international might be signed for roughly £42 million this winter. Milan might be Arsenal’s major rivals, as the player is a lifelong fan of them.

Huge potential

Tresoldi scored 23 goals and assisted 9 times in 58 appearances last season, and he is off to a great start this season, with 9 goals in just 13 appearances for Brugge.

This includes four goals in the Champions League from only three appearances. He scored a stunning hat-trick in a 4-3 victory over Inter Milan at the San Siro earlier this month.

Aside from goal scoring, the 22-year-old has impressed with his mobility and link-up play. He is also reasonably skilled in the air, winning three aerials each Champions League match.

Tresoldi has enormous potential, and Arsenal will undoubtedly keep a close eye on him throughout the rest of the year before making a formal move for his services during the winter transfer window.

Milan have also been suggested as potential suitors, but the Gunners may have an advantage because they participate in the Champions League and compete for the Premier League title.

Meanwhile, Milan is experiencing a period of upheaval. They play in the Europa League, but few expect them to challenge their fierce rivals Inter for the Scudetto this season.

If Arsenal sign Tresoldi, Gyokeres could leave in the winter. The Swede may also be willing to move on in search of regular league minutes during his prime years.
