Arsenal will be aiming to extend their winning run in the Premier League when they welcome Everton to the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon, October 24, 2026.

The Gunners head into the Saturday encounter looking for a third consecutive league victory, while Everton are hoping to avoid going three matches without a win at the North London venue.

Mikel Arteta’s side secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Nottingham Forest last weekend to maintain pressure on leaders Manchester City. Everton, meanwhile, suffered their first defeat of the season after losing 2-0 to Chelsea.

Arsenal seek to maintain pressure on Manchester City

Arsenal needed a late intervention to overcome Nottingham Forest in their previous league outing, with Noni Madueke scoring the decisive goal in the 80th minute after coming off the bench.

The winger’s effort took a deflection on its way into the net, but it was enough to secure all three points for Arteta’s men and keep them three points behind Manchester City, who remain perfect in the league.

City could temporarily increase their advantage to six points if they beat Aston Villa in Saturday’s early fixture. However, Arsenal will be confident of responding, having established an impressive record at the Emirates this season.

The Gunners have won all three of their home league matches in the current campaign. Their overall run at the stadium stands at six consecutive Premier League victories, during which they have conceded just twice.

Despite criticism from some quarters over their style of play, Arsenal have continued to demonstrate their attacking potential. They scored at least twice for the fifth time in seven matches across all competitions when they drew 2-2 with Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Eberechi Eze played a major role in that result, finding the net after enduring a difficult afternoon against Nottingham Forest. His contribution will be particularly important as Arsenal prepare for life without one of their most influential attacking players.

Everton face a difficult test in North London

Everton’s ambitions of returning to European competition for the first time in nine years suffered a setback against Chelsea, who ended their unbeaten start to the Premier League season.

Pedro Neto scored twice to hand the Toffees their first league defeat of the campaign in a match overshadowed by a serious head injury suffered by Emiliano Martinez.

Despite that disappointment, David Moyes’ team have generally remained competitive. Their biggest concern has been an inability to turn draws into victories rather than a consistent run of defeats.

Only one of Everton’s last six Premier League matches has ended in a win, while four have finished level. That tally is the joint-highest in the division alongside Brentford, Leeds United and Manchester United.

The Merseyside club occupy eighth place, with their position determined by goal difference in comparison with the teams immediately above them. They remain only three points away from the top four.

Everton have also proved difficult to beat away from home, drawing all three of their league matches on the road this season. They are among the four sides yet to suffer an away defeat in the 2026-27 campaign.

However, their recent record against Arsenal presents a significant challenge. The Gunners claimed a 2-0 victory in the corresponding fixture at the Emirates in March, with teenage forward Max Dowman making history as the Premier League’s youngest goalscorer.

Everton have now gone seven matches without defeating Arsenal in all competitions. Their last victory over the Gunners came in February 2023, when James Tarkowski scored in a 1-0 triumph at Goodison Park.

Team news and injury updates

Arsenal suffered a major setback during their Champions League draw against Bayern Munich when Bukayo Saka sustained a quadriceps injury.

The England international was forced off in the 10th minute and was replaced by Eze, who subsequently scored. Saka is feared to be facing between six and eight weeks out of action.

His absence is expected to give Eze an opportunity to start against Everton, with Madueke likely to return to his preferred position on the right wing.

Arteta could also make further adjustments following the demanding European encounter. Myles Lewis-Skelly and Viktor Gyokeres are potential starters as the manager considers changes to his midfield and attack.

Piero Hincapie is expected to be available after recovering from an ankle problem. However, William Saliba remains sidelined with a back injury, while Christos Tzolis is unavailable because of a hamstring issue.

Everton, in contrast, have a fully fit squad heading into the contest, offering Moyes greater flexibility despite his team’s recent struggles.

Former Arsenal midfielder Christian Norgaard returned from a groin injury to make his Everton debut against Chelsea.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles could make way at right-back after a difficult performance in that defeat, which included his involvement in the build-up to Neto’s opening goal. Jake O’Brien is an option to replace him.

There is also uncertainty surrounding Jarrad Branthwaite after the defender was absent from training footage earlier in the week. Moyes did not provide a definitive update on his availability during his pre-match media briefing.

Predicted starting lineups

Arsenal: Raya; White, Konsa, Gabriel, Calafiori; Lewis-Skelly, Rice; Madueke, Odegaard, Eze; Gyokeres.

Everton: Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Garner, Armstrong; Rohl, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish; Barry.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Everton

Arsenal have a demanding schedule across domestic and European competitions, and Saka’s injury is another setback for Arteta as his team pursues silverware.

Nevertheless, the Gunners have demonstrated that they possess enough depth to cope with difficult circumstances. Madueke’s decisive contribution against Nottingham Forest and Eze’s display against Bayern Munich are evidence of the options available to the manager.

Everton’s defensive organisation could make the contest competitive, but their recent difficulty finding goals remains a concern. Their limited attacking output in recent matches could leave them vulnerable against an Arsenal side that has been particularly strong at home.

With the Gunners enjoying a superior record at the Emirates and holding the advantage in recent meetings between the sides, Arsenal are favoured to claim another three points and record their third successive Premier League victory.
