Missing out on September’s divisional award to Chelsea youngster Reggie Watson only spurred Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tyrese Hall on to greater heights in October. After reaching five goals in six games, the 21-year-old has earned a second consecutive Premier League 2 Player of the Month nomination.
Tyrese Hall has earned a second straight Premier League 2 Player of the Month nod. Back in September, the 21-year-old made the shortlist before losing out to Chelsea rival Reggie Watson. Rather than slowing down, he raised his level again in October. Ahead of Sunday’s clash with Chelsea, he has five goals in six league games.
Two decisive October displays made it impossible for selectors to overlook the creative playmaker. On 18 October, he broke the deadlock during a 2-0 home win over Leicester City. Spotting goalkeeper Harry French off his line, Hall chipped it into the net. Those strikes have helped Wayne Burnett’s Under 21s climb to the top of the Premier League 2 table.
Even better followed just seven days later when Tottenham travelled north to face Middlesbrough. Stepping up from the penalty spot, the midfielder calmly slotted home to keep his scoring run alive. Deep into stoppage time, he then turned provider by setting up Elisha Sowunmi for the winner. That late pass sealed a dramatic 2-1 away victory for the young Lilywhites.

Seven other young talents across the division join the Spurs star on the October list. Bournemouth pair George Chubinidze and Charlie Stevens both earned nods alongside Crystal Palace’s Adler Nascimento. Meanwhile, Fuad Smith of Nottingham Forest and Norwich City’s Luke Towler made the final eight. Sunderland’s Trey Samuel Ogunsuyi and Charlie Smith of Derby County complete the group.

Members of the Premier League Football Development Panel picked the eight nominees after reviewing October’s games. That same panel will now cast the final votes to crown the monthly winner. Before the result drops, Hall will focus on helping Tottenham stay unbeaten against Chelsea on Sunday. Putting in another big display against the Blues would cap off a memorable week.
