Liverpool & Man Utd ‘among main suitors’ for Serie A star as Arsenal eye rivals’ £40m full-back

A round-up of some of the biggest new Premier League transfer rumours - with news from Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle and more.

It’s once again time for 3 Added Minutes’ regular morning round-up of some of the biggest new Premier League transfer rumours you might have missed over the past 24 hours – and we start things off today with a story involving Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea.

According to Caught Offside, that trio of teams are “among the main suitors” for AC Milan defender Koni De Winter, and all three sides are said to be “closely monitoring” his progress as they weigh up prospective bids.

Apparently Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle, Leeds and Brentford have all sent scouts to watch the 24-year-old too, although it’s suggested that Belgian – who is under contract until 2030 - isn’t in any great hurry to leave Milan .

There’s no word about the kind of transfer fee that might be required to convince Milan to sell, or any indication about whether we can expect bids in January or at some other point in the future – but it’s implied that Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea are positioning themselves to be at the front of the queue when the time comes.

The 3AM Verdict: This reads like pure speculation, to be perfectly honest, and no evidence is provided for the notion that those particular teams are at the head of the line. Perhaps a lot of teams are doing due diligence on De Winter, but we’re not sure anything more than that is happening just yet.

Arsenal & Man City still keen on £40m Newcastle man

Over to a story from Football Insider, now – they allege that both Arsenal and Manchester City are still “tracking” Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento, and could be preparing to make a move at the end of the season.

Livramento’s contract expires in 2028 and the England international, who cost £40m when he signed from Southampton, will enter the last year of his current deal if he doesn’t sign an extension by next summer. Under the circumstances, Newcastle “will reluctantly look to sell” him if it gets to that point.

Newcastle would apparently be far more keen to get Livramento to agree to an extension, but there’s said to have been no positive progress so far. There’s no suggestion that bids are likely in January.

The 3AM Verdict: There’s no evidence in here that anything has actually changed and this looks like a rehash of long-standing stories about Arsenal and Manchester City’s interest. That doesn’t mean it’s inaccurate, but there isn’t even a mention of a fresh source here to suggest that the situation really is as described. But it probably isn’t far from the truth, regardless.

Liverpool looking at Alisson alternatives

Let’s wrap up with a story from TEAMtalk which claims that Liverpool will “part ways” with the 34-year-old Alisson Becker at the end of the current season – and that they don’t plan to make current back-up Giorgio Mamardashvili their new number one when they do so.

Apparently one of their possible targets is Aston Villa’s Zion Suzuki, who only moved to his current club a couple of months ago. It’s suggested that they’ve “checked on” the Japan international, although what that means in practice is unclear.

It’s hard to imagine Villa being prepared to part with their new number one so soon after signing him for £30m, and indeed Liverpool are said to be “exploring” other options on the market as well, with their interest in Suzuki only in its “infancy.”
