Arsenal have been handed a boost after Noni Madueke was brutally left out of Thomas Tuchel's latest England squad. There had been growing expectation that the winger was set to be included particularly with club team-mate Bukayo Saka sidelined with a quad injury.
However, despite Madueke's promising recent form, he was not listed. Fulham youngster Josh King and Borussia Dortmund's Jobe Bellingham made the cut, however.
Madueke scored on Wednesday evening as Arsenal ran out 2-1 winners over Slavia Prague. He also recently netted the winner in the 1-0 victory at Nottingham Forest.
Tuchel is expected to explain his decision shortly but Madueke was a key part of his World Cup squad in the summer and started four matches on the road to the semi-finals.

He also missed out on the last camp, sitting out of Nations League games against Spain, Czechia (twice) and Croatia before using his omission as motivation with Arsenal.
Madueke has three goals and one assist in his last eight appearances for the Premier League champions.
Meanwhile, Declan Rice is back in the England squad. He withdrew from the fold last month due to load management and instead prioritised rest.
He has since featured prominently for Arsenal and even started against Slavia despite heavy rotation. Mikel Arteta later said on his decision to play Rice: "Well, the game required it and he did. He was as well rested against Fleetwood.

"So he had a very good week to recover. It's the second one that I play, not the fifth one. So we expect our players to be able to do that. I think he had some very good moments."
Rice battled neural hamstring pain at the World Cup in the summer and had to take injections to feature. Still, he was ready for the start of the campaign with the Gunners following a short rest but there will now be concern he's still playing too much football.
It was only a matter of weeks ago that Rice was spotted clutching the back of his right hamstring during the 2-0 win over Everton. He needs to be protected if he's to stay fit again this season, though he can't continue to miss England camps.
Ben White has also returned to the England squad. He made the cut back in March when he scored and gave away a penalty against Uruguay but he later missed the World Cup following a knee injury.
Ezri Konsa, Eberechi Eze and Myles Lewis-Skelly have all been included.
