Kane signed a lucrative new deal with the Bundesliga champions that commits the England captain to FCB until 2029, having scored 73 goals for club and country last season in a campaign that led him to win the Ballon d’Or.
Olise was another contender for that award, having sparkled at the Allianz Arena since moving to Bayern in 2024 from Crystal Palace.
The France international scored 22 goals and finished with 27 assists last season, generating huge interest in the summer from the likes of Arsenal, Real Madrid and Liverpool.
There was even talk of Los Blancos offering €200 million for Olise, though Bayern were firm in their insistence that he would not be allowed to leave – even for that extravagant sum.
Vincent Kompany’s side resisted that pressure and want to put any speculation firmly to bed by working on a new deal for the 22-year-old winger.
At the press conference related to Kane’s new deal, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen made an important announcement about Olise:
"We have always said that we don't just have Harry as a fantastic player in our ranks, but also players like Michael Olise, among others. His contract runs until 2029, and we will discuss that in due course."
This was effectively a hand-off warning for Real Madrid, Arsenal, Liverpool and any other clubs considering a move for Olise.
It was also a quietly confident message on the part of the Germans. They clearly do not feel under any pressure to rush an agreement with Olise, though given that he still has nearly three years to run on his current contract, that is perhaps understandable.
Given the rise of the attacker, Bayern would surely prefer to avoid any prolonged speculation over his future.
Olise’s dramatic explosion is underscored by his incredible Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) increase over the course of the last three years.
He was worth around €50m when he signed for Bayern, but that figure has steadily increased and is currently sitting at €178m, making him the second most valuable player in the world behind only Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal.
Even in the current situation, it will take something remarkable for Olise to leave Bayern, and a new deal will only lock him down further.
