Champions League: PSG Beat Barcelona 4-2 As Man City, Liverpool Record Big Wins

Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Liverpool were among the major winners on an entertaining night of UEFA Champions League action, as several matches delivered high-scoring encounters and dramatic finishes.

According to a report by The Daily Post on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, defending champions PSG claimed an impressive 4-2 victory over Barcelona at the Parc des Princes in a contest that featured multiple changes in momentum.

Desire Doue opened the scoring for the French side in the first half, giving PSG an early advantage. Barcelona responded after the interval, with Xavi Espart finding the net in the 55th minute to restore parity and revive the visitors’ hopes of securing a positive result.

Lucas Hernandez subsequently put PSG back in front, but Barcelona refused to surrender. Lamine Yamal scored from a tight angle to bring the Spanish giants level once again, setting up a tense finish between two teams determined to take control.

PSG eventually established their superiority in the closing stages. Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz both found the net late in the match, securing a two-goal victory for the reigning European champions and ensuring they collected all three points. Their ability to capitalise on opportunities towards the end proved decisive against a determined Barcelona side.

Manchester City also enjoyed a successful outing, producing an emphatic 5-1 triumph over AEK Athens. The convincing result underlined the English club’s attacking quality and strengthened its position in the competition as the campaign progressed.

Liverpool delivered one of the evening’s most dramatic performances, overcoming a two-goal deficit to defeat Villarreal 4-3. The seven-goal encounter tested the Reds’ resilience, but they managed to turn the match around and secure a valuable victory. The comeback is expected to provide a confidence boost as they continue their pursuit of European success.

Napoli were also involved in a closely contested encounter, edging Bodo/Glimt 4-3 in another match that produced seven goals. Both sides contributed to an entertaining contest, but the Italian outfit ultimately emerged with the victory after a fiercely competitive battle.

In contrast, Atletico Madrid were unable to secure maximum points during their away fixture against Stuttgart. The Spanish side had to settle for a 1-1 draw, leaving both teams with a share of the points.

The results illustrated the attacking intensity and unpredictability that continue to characterise Europe’s leading club competition. Several teams demonstrated their ability to score freely, while Liverpool’s comeback and Napoli’s narrow win provided additional drama.

PSG’s triumph over Barcelona was arguably the standout result of the evening, particularly because the defending champions managed to pull clear through two late goals. Manchester City’s convincing performance and Liverpool’s recovery also attracted attention as the clubs strengthened their campaigns.

With further fixtures ahead, the teams will now look to maintain their momentum and improve their positions as the contest for Champions League honours continues.
