According to a report by BBC Sport on Thursday, October 22, 2026, Arsenal secured a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in an entertaining UEFA Champions League encounter at the Allianz Arena.
Mikel Arteta’s side made a confident start and took the lead in the 25th minute when Eberechi Eze found the net after receiving a well-timed pass from Martin Odegaard. The goal was confirmed following a VAR review, giving the visitors an early advantage against the German giants.
Bayern responded strongly and equalised ten minutes later through Alphonso Davies, who finished off an opportunity created by Harry Kane in the 35th minute. Arsenal attempted to regain control before the interval, but the hosts stood firm as both teams went into half-time level at 1-1.
The second half continued with both sides pushing forward, and Bayern came close to taking the lead when David Raya saved Dayot Upamecano’s header. The German champions eventually moved ahead in the 61st minute after the referee awarded them a penalty for handball by Jurrien Timber. Kane stepped up and calmly converted from the spot to put Bayern in front.
However, Arsenal refused to surrender and found a way back into the contest in the 82nd minute. Declan Rice scored with a right-footed finish after receiving an assist from Viktor Gyokeres, restoring parity and giving the visitors hope of securing a late winner.
The Gunners continued to search for another goal, but Bayern’s defence held firm until the final whistle, leaving both teams to settle for a point.
The result means Arsenal earned a valuable point from a difficult away fixture, although Arteta may feel his team had opportunities to claim all three points. Bayern, meanwhile, missed the chance to secure a home victory after taking the lead in the second half.
Following the draw, Arsenal moved to seventh place in the UEFA Champions League table with seven points, while Bayern Munich climbed to 14th position with five points.
