Chelsea Fans Implore Clearlake to Take Action After Hearing Xabi Alonso’s Latest Transfer Target

According to a report by Football London on Friday, October 23, 2026, Chelsea fans appear to be in agreement over their desire for the club to sign Nico Paz following reports linking the Argentine attacking midfielder with a possible move to Stamford Bridge under manager Xabi Alonso.

Unlike previous transfer targets who sparked disagreements among supporters, Paz has generated considerable excitement across the Chelsea fanbase. Some fans had previously expressed doubts about the quality of the club’s summer recruits, including Maxence Lacroix, Pep Chavarria and Marco Palestra, questioning whether they could meet Chelsea’s expectations.

However, the reaction to Paz has been noticeably different, with the young Argentine emerging as a highly sought-after target. Reports suggest that Chelsea have been closely monitoring the Como midfielder, who is widely considered one of Argentina’s most promising young footballers.

Chelsea reportedly dispatched scouts to observe Paz during Como’s 3-2 defeat to Feyenoord and their subsequent 3-1 victory over Fiorentina, in which he registered a goal and an assist.

His impressive displays against Manchester United have further increased interest in his potential arrival. Como secured a convincing 4-1 victory in the encounter, with Paz scoring twice to demonstrate his attacking ability and influence.

Following the reports linking him with Chelsea, supporters have urged Clearlake Capital to do everything possible to secure his signature, regardless of the transfer fee involved.

One supporter stated, “If they can pull off a deal for him, I’ll back this board my entire life,” while another directly called on the club to sign the midfielder. Other fans praised Paz as one of the finest attacking midfielders available after Cole Palmer, highlighting his current form and the potential impact he could make at Stamford Bridge.

At 21, Paz could provide competition for Palmer and Morgan Rogers in the number ten role. His physical qualities could also enable him to operate in other attacking positions, giving Alonso additional tactical options.

Nevertheless, Chelsea could face significant competition in their pursuit of the Argentine. Paz has contributed 45 goals and assists in 85 appearances for Como, attracting interest from several clubs.

Real Madrid reportedly have a £70 million buyback clause in his contract, which could complicate Chelsea’s attempts to sign him. If Alonso is determined to bring Paz to London, convincing the player to choose Stamford Bridge could become a crucial factor in determining whether the proposed transfer materialises.
