According to a report by Football London on Sunday, November 1, 2026, Chelsea players have praised Romeo Lavia following his impressive performance in their 2-0 Premier League victory over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Several of Lavia's teammates took to Instagram to celebrate the Belgian midfielder after his influential display against Michael Carrick's side.
Lavia played an important role in the victory, winning possession before setting up Morgan Rogers for Chelsea's opening goal. He remained influential throughout the match as Xabi Alonso's team secured all three points.
The 22-year-old also completed the full 90 minutes, having played the entire duration of Chelsea's Carabao Cup defeat against Liverpool earlier in the week.
His ability to feature for two consecutive full matches will be encouraging for Alonso, particularly given the midfielder's persistent injury problems since joining Chelsea.
Lavia moved to Stamford Bridge from Southampton in a £53 million deal in 2023 but has struggled to maintain a consistent run of appearances because of fitness setbacks.
Following Saturday's victory, Brazilian youngster Estevao Willian was among the first players to recognise his teammate's performance.
Estevao responded to Lavia's Instagram post with the comment, "So good".
Moises Caicedo also celebrated the Belgian's display, describing it as "World class".
Young defender Josh Acheampong equally praised the midfielder, writing "too good" underneath the post.
The reactions highlighted the respect Lavia earned within Chelsea's dressing room after delivering what could be one of his strongest performances since arriving at the club.
Beyond his involvement in Rogers' opening goal, the midfielder impressed with his defensive work and composure when in possession.
According to statistics from Sofascore, Lavia recorded more defensive contributions than any other Chelsea player against Manchester United.
He also won four of the five tackles he attempted, demonstrating his effectiveness in disrupting the opposition's attacks.
Lavia received further recognition from Cole Palmer, who described him as "the best player on the pitch" after the match.
With the Belgian showing signs of maintaining his fitness, his growing influence could become increasingly important as Alonso looks to strengthen Chelsea's midfield options for the remainder of the season.
