Andoni Iraola provides double Liverpool injury update as tough Arsenal admission made

According to a report by Football London on Friday, October 30, 2026, Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has provided a double injury update ahead of Sunday's Premier League meeting with Arsenal at Anfield.

The Reds could have Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz available for the important encounter, with both players in contention to return to the matchday squad.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Iraola confirmed that the two players have a chance of featuring, although their fitness will be assessed over the next two days.

"I think Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz have a chance, but we still have two days. I think they have a chance, yes," Iraola said.

Szoboszlai aggravated a hamstring injury while representing Hungary last month before suffering another setback during his first appearance after the international break.

Munoz, meanwhile, has been unavailable since picking up a minor knock during Liverpool's victory over Brentford a couple of weeks ago.

The Liverpool manager also acknowledged the challenge Arsenal would pose, describing Mikel Arteta's team as a very good side currently enjoying a strong position in the league.

Iraola stressed that his players must be ready for physical battles, aerial challenges and set-piece situations if they hope to secure a positive result against the Gunners.

He also played down discussions about the Premier League title race, arguing that October is too early to become focused on the standings. Instead, he insisted that Liverpool must approach their campaign one match at a time.

Arsenal currently share the top position with Manchester City, while Liverpool are six points behind the leaders. A victory over the Gunners would therefore provide a significant boost to Liverpool's title ambitions.

However, Arsenal have not recorded a Premier League victory at Anfield since September 2012, meaning Sunday's fixture presents another difficult challenge for Arteta's side.
