Arsenal have reportedly been informed that they would need to pay approximately €50 million (£41.8 million) to sign Club Brugge striker Nicolò Tresoldi, who has attracted considerable attention following his impressive performances this season.
The 22-year-old has become a potential attacking addition for Mikel Arteta’s side, with Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg reporting that the Gunners have developed a strong interest in the forward. His consistent goalscoring displays have also placed him on the radar of several clubs across Europe.
Tresoldi has scored 12 goals in 14 appearances for Club Brugge this season, establishing himself as one of the Belgian side’s standout performers. He delivered a particularly impressive display earlier this month by scoring a hat-trick against Inter Milan in the Champions League, further strengthening his growing reputation.
Arsenal could benefit from their recent dealings with Brugge as they explore the possibility of negotiating another transfer. The Premier League club signed Greek winger Christos Tzolis from the Belgian outfit in July, reportedly paying €40 million (£35 million) to secure his services. However, any attempt to recruit Tresoldi would require another significant financial commitment.
According to Plettenberg, Brugge previously set the same €50 million valuation when Barcelona considered signing the striker during the summer transfer window. The Spanish giants were reportedly unwilling to meet the asking price and eventually brought in Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal for a fee believed to be around €10 million (£8.3 million).
Jesus has since made an encouraging start to life at Barcelona under head coach Hansi Flick. The Brazilian forward has recorded four goals in eight appearances, providing a positive early return following his move to the Catalan club.
Meanwhile, Arsenal continue to assess their options in attack as Arteta seeks to maintain the quality and depth of his forward line. The Gunners were reportedly interested in several high-profile players during the previous transfer window, including Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior, Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez and Juventus attacker Kenan Yildiz. However, none of those proposed moves materialised.
Reports also claimed that Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli departed for Besiktas and Al-Hilal respectively, developments that could influence Arsenal’s approach to strengthening their attacking options.
Despite the transfer speculation, Arsenal have enjoyed a positive opening to the 2026-27 campaign. They have lost only once in their first 13 matches across all competitions and are level with Manchester City on 21 points at the top of the Premier League table.
In the Champions League, Arsenal sit seventh in the league-phase standings, while Brugge occupy 11th position. Tresoldi’s contributions have been important to the Belgian club’s European campaign.
The German Under-21 international continued his remarkable scoring run on Sunday, registering another hat-trick in Brugge’s Belgian Pro League victory over Sint-Truiden.
With his performances attracting increasing attention, Arsenal may need to meet Brugge’s valuation if they decide to pursue the striker. Whether the North London club is prepared to make such a substantial investment remains uncertain.
