According to a report by Madrid Universal on Monday, November 2, 2026, Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe shared a heart-warming moment with a young supporter after the child was accidentally struck by a shot from midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni during their 3-0 victory over Racing Santander.
The incident occurred early in the second half of Sunday's La Liga match when Tchouameni attempted a shot that missed the target and flew into the stands, hitting the young boy in the face.
The child was left crying after the incident, but Real Madrid ensured he received attention following the final whistle.
The club invited the boy and his father into the stadium corridors, where Tchouameni personally apologised and presented the young supporter with a signed shirt.
Mbappe also stopped to check on the child as he walked past him. The France international asked if he was alright before jokingly putting the blame on his teammate.
"It's Tchouameni's fault. He doesn't know how to shoot," Mbappe said.
His comment brought some humour to the situation, with the boy appearing to have recovered as he shook hands with the Real Madrid forward and exchanged a high five with him.
The child's father later praised the club for how it handled the situation, describing the incident as a minor scare.
Speaking to DAZN, in comments reported by RMC Sport, he said: "It was just a simple scare. The way Real Madrid treated us, with that little gesture, is really appreciated."
Meanwhile, Mbappe continued his impressive goalscoring run by opening the scoring from the penalty spot in the 11th minute.
Jude Bellingham and Yan Diomande added two more goals before half-time to give Real Madrid a comfortable 3-0 victory.
The result extended Madrid's winning run to six consecutive matches in all competitions, although they remain third in the La Liga standings, three points behind leaders Barcelona.
Mbappe's penalty took his tally to 15 goals in 14 appearances this season, including 12 in La Liga. It also marked his 101st goal for Real Madrid.
The French forward has maintained an impressive run of form since the international break, recording six goals and one assist in five matches before the Racing Santander encounter.
However, his heavy workload could become a concern for manager Jose Mourinho. According to the report, Mbappe had played 1,161 of a possible 1,170 minutes before Sunday's match, making him the most heavily used outfield player across Europe's top five leagues.
Real Madrid will next face AEK Athens in the Champions League on Wednesday before travelling to Mestalla to take on Valencia in La Liga on Saturday.
It remains to be seen whether Mourinho will give Mbappe a rest for the European fixture, considering the number of minutes the forward has played this season.
