According to a report by Football London on Friday, October 23, 2026, Chelsea supporters have expressed widespread excitement over the possibility of signing Nico Paz after reports linked the Argentine playmaker with a potential move to Stamford Bridge under manager Xabi Alonso.
Unlike previous transfer targets who divided opinions among the fanbase, Paz has received significant backing from Chelsea supporters, with many urging the club to secure his signature.
Some fans had previously questioned the quality of Chelsea’s summer signings, including Maxence Lacroix, Pep Chavarria and Marco Palestra, expressing concerns about whether they could meet the club’s expectations.
However, the situation appears different with Paz, who has emerged as an attractive target following his impressive performances for Como. The midfielder is widely regarded as one of Argentina’s most promising young talents.
Reports indicate that Chelsea sent scouts to monitor the 21-year-old during Como’s 3-2 defeat against Feyenoord and their subsequent 3-1 victory over Fiorentina, in which he registered a goal and an assist.
His performances against Manchester United have further increased interest in his services. Como secured an impressive 4-1 victory, with Paz scoring twice to demonstrate his attacking quality.
Following reports of Chelsea’s interest, supporters have urged Clearlake Capital to pursue the midfielder regardless of the potential transfer fee.
One fan declared, “If they can pull off a deal for him, I’ll back this board my entire life,” while another called on the club to complete the signing.
Other supporters described Paz as one of the best attacking midfielders after Cole Palmer, praising his current form and the qualities he could bring to Chelsea.
The Argentine could compete with Palmer and Morgan Rogers for the number ten position, while his physical attributes could also allow him to operate in other attacking roles.
However, Chelsea could face competition for his signature, as Paz has recorded 45 goals and assists in 85 appearances for Como, attracting interest from several clubs.
Real Madrid reportedly hold a £70 million buyback clause in his contract, which could complicate Chelsea’s pursuit. Convincing the Argentine to choose Stamford Bridge could prove crucial if Alonso wants to bring him to London.
