According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, October 31, 2026, Morgan Rogers produced an outstanding display to help Chelsea beat Manchester United 2-0, earning the Man of the Match award after playing a key role in the victory.
The midfielder was central to Chelsea’s attacking performance and scored the opening goal that allowed the Blues to take control of the encounter.
After a goalless first half, Rogers broke the deadlock in the 50th minute with an excellent individual effort. He drove into the Manchester United penalty area, kept his composure and cleverly lifted the ball over goalkeeper Senne Lammens to give Chelsea the lead.
His goal shifted the momentum in Chelsea’s favour and gave the home side the confidence to search for another. Rogers continued to trouble United’s defence with his dribbling ability, movement and attacking runs throughout the match.
Chelsea maintained their pressure after taking the lead, and their advantage increased in the 63rd minute when Lisandro Martinez was shown a second yellow card for a foul inside the penalty area. Following a VAR review, the referee awarded the Blues a penalty.
Cole Palmer took responsibility and converted from the spot in the 64th minute, despite Lammens managing to get a hand to his effort. The goal doubled Chelsea’s lead and put them in a strong position to secure all three points.
Rogers’ contribution proved particularly valuable as he delivered the breakthrough when Chelsea needed a moment of quality to change the game. His movement, confidence in possession and clinical finishing made him one of the most influential players on the pitch.
Although another Chelsea effort from Estêvão was ruled out for offside following a VAR review, the Blues held on to their advantage against the ten-man visitors.
Rogers’ decisive performance helped Chelsea secure an important Premier League victory over Manchester United, making him a deserving winner of the Man of the Match award.
