Morocco beat Angola 5-2 in the final of the 2026 Futsal Africa Cup of Nations in Rabat on Wednesday to win the title for a record fourth consecutive time.
The victory means Morocco have retained the trophy, following their previous successes in 2016, 2020 and 2024. They are now the only side to have won four editions in succession, moving clear of Egypt, who claimed the first three tournaments in 1996, 2000 and 2004.
Angola kept Morocco under pressure for the opening 15 minutes, but the hosts eventually broke the deadlock through Othmane El Idrissi.
The GOAL FC winger, operating on the right, created space before firing a powerful effort through a narrow gap past the Angola goalkeeper in the 17th minute.
His goal brought the Palais des Sports du Complexe Prince Moulay Abdellah in Rabat to life. Mohamed Ouahbi, manager of the national football team, was watching from the stands.
Angola responded almost immediately, drawing level a minute later in what was Morocco’s first conceded goal of the tournament.
Hicham Dguig’s side restored their advantage in the 19th minute, with Youssef Jaouad producing a composed finish from distance. The Union Touarga playmaker held off his marker before finding the far corner with a diagonal shot.
Morocco went into half-time 2-1 ahead and extended their lead soon after the restart.
Idriss Raiss El-Fenni struck from long range in the 21st minute to put the hosts two goals clear. Ismail Amazal then added a fourth in the 33rd minute before Bilal Bakkali scored two minutes later to place the result beyond Angola’s reach.
Angola pulled another goal back in the 37th minute, but the late effort could not change the outcome as Morocco completed another successful title defence.
The result confirms Morocco’s dominance of the competition in recent editions and establishes a new record for consecutive Futsal Africa Cup of Nations victories.
