Nigeria’s Flamingos have made history by securing their first-ever appearance in the final of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup following an impressive 3-1 victory over Brazil in the semi-finals.

The Nigerian youngsters delivered a remarkable performance to overcome the South American giants, confirming their place in Saturday’s final, where they will face Japan for the tournament’s ultimate prize.

The encounter saw the Flamingos demonstrate determination, attacking quality and resilience as they produced three second-half goals to seal a memorable victory.

Queen Joseph opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 56th minute, giving the Flamingos the breakthrough they needed after a competitive first half.

Nigeria continued to dominate proceedings, with Awawu Bashiru doubling the advantage in the 71st minute before completing her brace in the 80th minute to put the West Africans firmly in control at 3-0.

Brazil managed to pull one goal back through Greise Kelly in the 89th minute, but it was too late to prevent Nigeria from celebrating a historic qualification.

The 3-1 triumph represents a significant milestone for Nigerian women’s youth football, as the Flamingos reach the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup final for the first time in the country’s history.

Nigeria vs Japan: Flamingos Chase Historic World Cup Title

Nigeria will now turn their attention to Saturday’s final against Japan, with the opportunity to become champions of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup for the first time.

The Japanese side will present another major challenge, but the Flamingos will approach the encounter with renewed confidence following their impressive victory over Brazil.

Having already written their names into Nigerian football history, the young African champions will be determined to complete their remarkable campaign by lifting the trophy.

Victory over Japan would see Nigeria crowned FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup champions for the first time and further underline the country’s growing strength in women’s football.
