Ghana’s National U-15 Boys team brought their FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival campaign in Azerbaijan to a strong finish with a convincing 4-0 victory over Colombia in their final match.
The team had earlier suffered a 7-1 defeat to Brazil in the Tier A Ranking Play-Offs for positions five to eight, following their quarter-final exit against Paraguay, where they lost 7-6 on penalties after a 2-2 draw.
However, Ghana bounced back from the heavy loss to Brazil with an impressive display against Colombia, scoring four goals without reply to close their participation in the FIFA Talent Development Scheme tournament on a winning note.
The victory completed an impressive campaign for the young Ghanaian side, who recorded eight wins in ten matches, scored 44 goals and finished among the top eight teams in the competition.
Shamsudeen Sulemana and Abdul Aziz Issah were among Ghana’s standout performers during the tournament. Sulemana scored four goals in the 5-2 victory over Mexico, while Issah delivered consistent performances and found the net against Korea Republic, Mexico and Colombia.
