Asante Kotoko will aim to return to winning ways when they host Ghana Premier League leaders Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday, November 1, in a crucial Matchday Nine encounter.
The Porcupine Warriors go into the fixture under pressure after drawing 1-1 with FC Ashanti Gold ‘04 at the Len Clay Stadium last weekend.
Kotoko sit eighth on the league table with 12 points and will be eager to improve their position with a strong performance against the league leaders.
The Kumasi-based side will, however, draw confidence from their home form, having recorded their victories this season in front of their supporters.
Their recent head-to-head record against Medeama at Baba Yara also offers encouragement, with three wins, one draw and two defeats in their last six league meetings at the venue since the 2020/21 season.
Medeama, meanwhile, arrive in Kumasi in a confident mood after beating Aduana FC 1-0 last weekend to bounce back from their first defeat of the campaign against FC Samartex 1996.
The Tarkwa-based side have accumulated 17 points from eight matches and won four of their last five league games, scoring 14 goals during that period.
However, their away form could offer Kotoko some hope, as Medeama have managed only one win in four away league matches this season.
