Defending Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC have put their first defeat of the 2026/27 campaign behind them and shifted their attention to Sundays crucial clash against Aduana FC, head coach Ibrahim Tanko has said. The Mauve and Yellow suffered a narrow 2-1 loss to FC Samartex last weekend, ending their unbeaten start to the season. However, Tanko insists his team have moved on from the disappointment and are preparing for the challenge ahead.Like I said after the game, we put the game against Samartex aside and started preparing very well because Aduana is also a very good side, he said.Medeama will host Aduana at the T&A Park in an elite Round 8 encounter, with both teams seeking valuable points in a tightly contested title race.Tanko acknowledged the pain of losing to Samartex but stressed the need to remain focused on their next assignment. No, I mean, it is a painful defeat, looking at the time we conceded the second goal. But this is the Premier League. We have to put that aside and concentrate on our next game, which is very, very important for us, he added.Medeama sit third on 14 points after seven matches, level with Samartex and Hearts of Oak. They have scored 13 goals, making them the leagues most prolific team so far.Aduana, meanwhile, occupy fourth place with 13 points after returning to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over AshantiGold.
