Your prayers helped us - Coach Fatawu thanks Ghanaians after U-15 World Cup heroics

National U-15 Boys head coach Salifu Fatawu has thanked Ghanaians and the media for their support during Ghana's impressive campaign at the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival in Azerbaijan.

Ghana finished 7th out of 189 countries after winning eight of their ten matches, including a commanding 4-0 victory over Colombia in their final game.

Speaking after the tournament, Coach Fatawu said the prayers and encouragement from home inspired the team.

"As the head coach of the team, I think on behalf of my colleagues, the technical team and the playing body, I want to thank Ghanaians for the support and encouragement during this competition," Fatawu said.

"The prayers, the encouragement they gave us actually helped us during this competition. I want to also thank the media houses for the support of encouraging and, you know, reports they give out there. I think it really helped us in also giving our best for the nation."

The coach believes continued support will reflect positively on Ghana's national teams.

"And I want to say that if we continue this way, there will be a lot of good reflections in our national teams," he added.
