Prisons Ladies made the brighter start, pressing high and creating several early openings, but Tamale Super Ladies’ organised defence kept the match goalless through the first half.
The hosts took the lead 12 minutes after the restart when Rahama Azimpaga Mohammed finished a well-worked move in the 57th minute, prompting celebrations among the home supporters.
Prisons Ladies continued to push forward and were rewarded deep into stoppage time. Abigail Tutuwa converted from the penalty spot in the 90+3rd minute to secure a share of the points.
Elsewhere, Supreme Ladies began their return to the 2026/27 Ghana Women's Premier League with a goalless draw against FC Savannah at the Bantama Astro Turf.
The two teams competed strongly for victory but were unable to create the decisive opening in a closely fought contest. Supreme Ladies goalkeeper Akousa Safoaa was named MVP after producing an impressive performance.
Fosu Royal Ladies claimed all three points against Ashanti Ladies with a late winner.
Both sides were well organised defensively in the opening half, although clear chances were limited. Fosu Royal Ladies had more of the possession after the interval and eventually broke through when Safiatu Mahamud scored in the 90th minute.
