According to a report by BBC Sport on Sunday, October 25, 2026, Alexander Isak delivered an impressive performance as Liverpool secured a 2-0 Premier League victory over Brighton, scoring one of the goals that helped the home side claim all three points.
Liverpool made a strong start to the encounter, scoring twice within the opening 21 minutes to take control of the match.
The Reds opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross inadvertently put the ball into his own net, handing the hosts an early advantage.
Liverpool doubled their lead four minutes later when Isak found the back of the net. The Swedish international reacted well to Bradley Barcola’s assist, finishing from close range with a simple tap-in into an unguarded goal.
Before scoring, Isak had an opportunity to threaten Brighton’s goal in the 20th minute after creating space for a shot just outside the penalty area. However, his effort sailed over the crossbar. The striker quickly recovered from the miss by converting Barcola’s delivery to give Liverpool a comfortable two-goal advantage.
Liverpool’s attacking play was particularly effective in the opening half, with quick passing and intelligent movement allowing the players to exploit gaps in Brighton’s defence. Isak’s ability to find dangerous positions inside the penalty area helped the hosts make the most of their scoring opportunities.
Brighton attempted to reduce the deficit after the break, but Liverpool remained organised defensively and limited the visitors’ chances of getting back into the contest.
Isak continued to contribute to Liverpool’s attacking efforts until the 77th minute, when the manager replaced him with Lewis Koumas. The score remained unchanged for the rest of the match, ensuring Liverpool secured a deserved victory.
Isak’s goal proved crucial in strengthening Liverpool’s early advantage, while his intelligent movement and attacking threat kept Brighton’s defenders under pressure throughout the encounter.
