2026/27 Ghana Premier League: Debibi United vs Hearts of Oak — Preview, Team News, Lineups & Prediction

Debibi United will host Hearts of Oak at Debibi Presby Park on Sunday in a Matchweek 9 game of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League.

Debibi United will be hoping to return to winning ways after suffering a 3-0 defeat away to Bechem United last weekend.

The Victory Boys, coached by Isaac Nii Armah, have recorded two wins, one draw and five defeats in eight matches. They are currently 16th on the league table with seven points.

However, they face a tough test against Hearts of Oak, who have enjoyed a good start to the season under Serbian coach Nebojsa Kapor.

The Phobians sit second with 17 points from eight matches and will be looking for another win to keep their title hopes on track.

Match Preview

Debibi United will be eager to recover from their heavy defeat to Bechem United. With only seven points from eight matches, the hosts need a victory to improve their position and move away from the bottom of the table.

On the other hand, Hearts of Oak have collected 17 points from eight matches and currently occupy second place. Kapor will want his players to maintain their good form and keep the pressure on league leaders; Medeama SC.

With contrasting ambitions, Debibi United are fighting to move away from the relegation zone, while Hearts of Oak are hoping to challenge for the league title. Both sides will therefore have plenty to play for on Sunday.

Key players to watch

Richard Owusu and Wisdom Zakari will be important players for Debibi United as they look to trouble the Hearts defence. For the visitors, John Antwi, Kader Mahmoud and Henry Kweku Boateng will be expected to lead the attack and create scoring chances.

Hearts of Oak have been more consistent this season and will travel to Tain with confidence. Although Debibi United will have home support behind them, the Phobians have the quality to secure all three points.

Team News

Both teams have no major injury or suspension problems ahead of Sunday's game and are expected to have their key players available for selection.

Possible Starting Lineups

Debibi United: Jayson Nettey (GK); Maxwell Agyemang, Paul Kwame, Michael Owusu, Thomas Quenin, Bariu Sule; Felix Koduah, Bernard Kofi, Yakubu Malik, Richard Owusu; Wisdom Zakari.

Hearts of Oak: Benjamin Asare (GK); Manuel Osei Djan, Ransford Mensah, Ali Mohammed, Kelvin Osei Asibey; Mohammed Hussein, Abdul Karim, Yaw Amankwa Baafi; Kader Mahmoud, John Antwi, Henry Kweku Boateng.

We Say: Debibi United 1-2 Hearts of Oak

Hearts of Oak have shown better form this season, and we expect them to win Sunday's encounter.

Debibi United could take the lead through Richard Owusu, but Henry Kweku Boateng is expected to score the equaliser for Hearts before John Antwi finds the winning goal in the second half.

We are backing the Phobians to secure a 2-1 away victory and maintain their place among the top teams.
