Barcelona Fined by RFEF After Objects Thrown During El Clásico at Camp Nou

The Royal Spanish Football Federation Disciplinary Committee has fined FC Barcelona up to €602 for a minor public order disturbance during El Clásico, MARCA reported. The sanction stems from incidents in the 87th minute at the Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday, when spectators hurled objects onto the pitch during Real Madrid’s second goal in a 2-1 victory.

Referee Martínez Munuera briefly halted the match after a water bottle and a Coca-Cola can landed near the field from the Fondo Norte stand. While none of the items struck the players, the match official issued a stadium announcement warning the crowd to cease the behavior before resuming play. The referee logged the incident in his official match report, which the federation’s disciplinary body then used to apply Article 117 regarding minor public order infractions.

LaLiga Files Report Detailing Seventeen Clásico Incidents

Alongside the federation’s disciplinary action, LaLiga submitted an extensive report on Tuesday detailing 17 separate incidents recorded at the Camp Nou during the match, according to Diario AS. The league’s documentation covers ten complaints regarding Barcelona supporters and seven concerning Real Madrid fans. Among the accusations, the league flagged repeated offensive chants from local supporters in the Gol Sud and Gol Nord stands directed at specific players and the visiting club.

The league’s filing also addressed objects thrown from the stands, including bottles, cans, lighters, and a vaping device. These occurrences coincided with the late stages of the fixture, when Kylian Mbappé scored in the 87th minute to secure the three points for the visitors, narrowing the gap in the league standings. Specifically, local fans in the Gol Sud sectors 20 to 24, belonging to the “Grada Gol 1957” group, chanted chorally and in a coordinated manner for about 10 seconds at minute 9:25: Ese portugués, que hijo puta es. At minute 16:05, individuals from the same group and location chanted Cucurella, hijo de puta for about 10 seconds. Later, at minute 22:35, local fans in various sectors of Gol Nord chanted Puta Real Madrid, puta Real Madrid for about 5 seconds, followed at minute 26:35 by members of “Grada Gol 1957” in Gol Sud chanting El madridista hijo de puta, su puta madre por el culo lo disfruta for about 10 seconds. At minute 56:50, the same local supporters chanted Písalo, písalo for about 10 seconds, and at minute 82 they repeated Cucurella, hijo de puta for about 10 seconds. Regarding the complaints against Real Madrid fans, the report notes that the chant Puta Barça, puta Barça, eh was registered seven times.

Alleged Contact Involving Eduardo Camavinga During Goal Celebration

Media reports from multiple outlets highlighted an additional flashpoint during the game’s decisive moments. Varios jugadores del Real Madrid se dirigieron hacia uno de los fondos para celebrar el 1-2, donde se encontraron con la reacción de los aficionados. Footage circulated on social media showing objects and flagpoles being swung near the players.

LaLiga included the episode in its communication to the Disciplinary Committee and the Anti-Violence Commission, while Real Madrid evaluated video evidence during Monday to determine whether to file a separate formal complaint by 14:00 on Tuesday.

Disciplinary Framework and Next Steps for the Clubs

The federation applied Article 117 of its disciplinary code, which governs minor public order disturbances and establishes a maximum financial penalty of €602 for the responsible club. While the regulation sets that ceiling, the exact fine levied against Barcelona has not been publicly specified by the disciplinary panel.

The ongoing proceedings before the RFEF will determine whether further sanctions arise from the broader dossier submitted by LaLiga, which encompasses both the pyrotechnic and verbal infractions logged by match observers. Both clubs await official confirmation regarding potential extraordinary proceedings as domestic competition continues.
