Much has been made about the future of Oliver Glasner at Nottingham Forest after his rant following the 2-0 defeat to Brentford last weekend.
The Reds were well beaten by the Bees in a game where James McAtee and Ryan Yates had the best chances for Forest, with the latter making his first appearance of the season.
Glasner took aim at Forest’s stars after the game. In a pretty out-of-character movement, he said it was time for him to stop the compromises and do things his way to revive the club’s torrid form.
The players seem to have responded well to that criticism, and it will be fascinating to see how the team responds against Manchester City this weekend.
It would appear as though most fans are remaining level-headed about the Glasner situation, with the defeats starting to come at an alarming rate for the head coach.
We asked fans on our TalkingPoints app whether or not Glasner should get time to turn things around, and it feels as though the consensus is that his winners mentality elsewhere suggests he should get more time.
One fan posted that there is nobody out there as good as Glasner and that he should be afforded more time:

Another suggested that the constant chopping and changing of managers does nobody any favours at all, with stability the key.

Lets give a manager time to sort things out. It is much better for the players and for the club. The way of playing is good but scoring goals is the problem. I believe Oliver wil get it right

One supporter is of the belief that Glasner will at the bare minimum get a full season to prove himself to Evangelos Marinakis.

I think Glasner will get a season, the hierarchy knows there’s enough talent in the squad to stay up, if anything we may cash in on our star individuals to build a team that fits Glasners style because at end of the day hes been successful at majority of his roles at previous clubs and none are so called giants in Europe.

Another fan cited Glasner’s reputation as a reason for why he should be kept at the club, with the head coach winning the Europa League and UEFA Conference League previously.

Glasner is one of the best managers in Europe – give him time and the rewards could be huge

Another fan thinks history should be looked at. He believes there isn’t a single instance of a club proving successful after constantly chopping and changing managers, with continuity key.

There isn’t a single instance of a football club being successful on the back of continually chopping and changing the head coach. Glasner is a top manager and needs time to implement his methods.

Finally, another fan stands with Glasner and believes his rant following the Brentford game was more than justified.

Glasner is right. The problem was there last year. Back the manager for the full season. Rebuild and let’s start winning again. COYR

Glasner has said that compromises are no longer common practice at the City Ground, with the head coach now determined to do things his way at the club.
Certain players don’t look up to playing in Glasner’s system, and as a result, changes might have to be made to the squad when the window does reopen.
A new left-sided player could be in the sights of Glasner, with Neco Williams showcasing some unnatural tendencies playing as a right-footer in that area of the pitch.
If Forest are going to persist with Glasner, then there have to be some tough decisions made and full power given to the Austrian ahead of a big second half of the campaign.
