Brighton moved to second in the Premier League with a comfortable 2-0 win against Brentford at the Amex Stadium.
Brighton's opening goal on 15 minutes was a thing of beauty as Diego Gomez fired in an absolute rocket with his left foot from 25 yards. It adds to the Paraguayan's collection of spectacular goals for Brighton - including his halfway line effort against Crystal Palace in his previous appearance at the Amex.
Brighton's task was made easier as the Bees were reduced to 10-men when Igor Thiago was dismissed on 23 minutes for shoving his arm in the face of Brighton midfielder Chema Andres.
The second soon arrived 20 minutes later as Keane Lewis-Potter tangled with Luka Vuskovic in the area as they jostled at a set-piece and referee Michael Oliver awarded a penalty. Pascal Gross confidently smashed it into the top corner.
Brighton dominated for most of the second half as 10-man Brentford sat deep but failed to add to their tally. Fabian Hurzeler’s high-flying Seagulls resume Premier League action after the international break on November 22 at Hull City.
Bart Verbruggen - 7: The Dutchman kept Brighton’s seventh clean sheet of the season - the highest in the division. One of the easiest matches of his Premier League career as the Bees failed to register a shot on target.
Costinha - 7: The Protugese right back has ben an excellent addition following his summer arrival. More than proved his worth in Ferdi Kadioglu’s absence.
Luka Vuskovic - 8: Rarely seen a 6ft 4in centre back with a better first touch than Luka Vuskovic. The 19-year-old continues to impress after his £50m summer arrival. Enjoyed a physical tussle.
Lewis Dunk - 6: His job was made so much easier after Thiago's red card. A pretty easy afternoon for the skipper who can now put his feet up during the international break. Picked up a needless booking on 61 minutes.
Olivier Boscagli - 8: Fine delivery from the left to set up De Cuyper's early chance. Defended well and provided width on the left. He’s started every single match so far this term in all competitions. Very good!
Chema Andres - 7: A real smooth operator in the midfield. Offers more composure and balance than Carlos Baleba ever did. Booked midway through the half and replaced at halftime for Mats Wieffer.
Pascal Gross - 7: Another who has started every match this season and will have a deserved break during the internationals. Smashed home his penalty on style and faultless in midfield.
Diego Gomez - 9: Lewis Dunk calls him "hammer foot". What a belter! The Paraguayan was full throttle all match.
Yasin Ayari - 7: Forced a decent save from Brentford keeper Kelleher on 44 minutes. The Sweden international plays at a consistently high level these days. replaced by Hinshelwood on 78 minutes.
Maxim De Cuyper - 7: Headed an early chance over the bar and the Belgian would have been disappointed not to add to his four goals and four assists this term. Replaced by Minteh for the final 10.
Charalampos Kostoulas - 6: The Greek striker had a couple of chances - one header from distance and one clever lobbed attempt - but very little fell his way. Impressive work rate. Taken of in the closing stages for Georginio.
Substitutions: Wieffer (Chema, h-t), Hinshelwood (Ayari, 78) Georginio (Kostoulas, 82) Minteh (De Cuyper, 82), Yalcouye (Gomez, 92)
