FORMER rugby league star Nelson Asofa-Solomona knocked out his opponent before jumping into the crowd to swing a punch at a fan.
Asofa-Solomona – who represented New Zealand at international level for seven years – crossed over to boxing in January.
And after scoring a brutal first-round KO of Paul Gallen, another former rugby player, he moved to 4-0.
But the action did not stop there as Asofa-Solomona leapt off the top rope and stormed into the crowd where he swung at a fan.
Asofa-Solomona, 30, spoke out after the melee and said: “I want to apologise for what I did. I acted like a bloody idiot.
“I got caught up in the moment, but I shouldn’t behave like that. I’m sorry.”
But speaking to media after the fight, Asofa-Solomona alleged that he was racially abused which led to his emotional reaction.
He said: “I looked in the crowd and someone was doing an ape gesture.
“I stood on the ropes and it looked like someone threw something at me and I just lost it.
“If I could have my time back, I would because that’s not on. But what that guy did to me in terms of gestures is not on either.
“I don’t tolerate that bulls***.”
Asofa-Solomona played as a prop and spent ten years with Melbourne Storm before switching to boxing.
He was asked about what he wants to do next and called out British reality TV star and boxer Tommy Fury.
Asofa-Solomona, 30, said: “Big Nasty is here to stay. And if we can make this next fight work I would love it. Tommy Fury, over in the UK.”
Fury is the younger brother of two-time heavyweight world champion Tyson and has a 10-0 professional record.
The 27-year-old has wins over YouTube stars Jake Paul and KSI and beat strongman Eddie Hall in his last exhibition bout in June.
He was due to return in a Misfits Boxing bout – home to celebrity-style fights – in December but could not find an opponent.
Father-of-two Fury is now set to be back in January as the search for his next fight continues.
