TOMMY FURY’S December boxing return is OFF – and set to be rescheduled to 2027.

Fury’s last bout was an exhibition with strongman Eddie Hall in June – which he won over six rounds.

And he was set to headline a huge Misfits Boxing event in Manchester on December 5 – subject to finding an opponent.

But after a painful search, Misfits promoter Kalle Sauerland confirmed Fury’s return is now delayed until early next year.

Sauerland told iFL TV: “We haven’t really been able to agree on the right opponent, looking at something early next year with him at the moment.

“So that didn’t work out for December but we’re looking at something else Misfits in December still, as well as something very big at the end of January.

“That’s to be revealed this week, but we’re working on a plan for December and January. Closer to Christmas. Not on the 5th.”

Misfits are now planning a smaller show in late December in the UK or possibly the US with Fury’s pay-per-view return in January.

SunSport understands Game of Thrones star Hafthor Bjornsson – who beat Hall in a 2022 boxing bout – was among the names in line to face Fury.

The 2019 Love Islander – who met fiancee Molly-Mae Hague in the ITV villa – faced criticism for not rematching Jake Paul – who he beat in 2023.

But he claimed the offer came while he was already in negotiations for a December return – which has now collapsed.

Fury posted online: “Just wanted to make it very clear as to why the rematch with Jake hasn’t happened yet.

“His team came to me when I already had an agreed date in place elsewhere.

“Why would I then agree to a fight with Jake or anyone of that fact when I had already committed to another fight.

“He made me an offer knowing full well about the other date. I said publicly that I would fight Jake anytime after that date. Jan, Feb, March literally any time.

“Jake and his team love to play out to everyone that it’s me running from this fight when it’s very much the other way around.”
