A stray shot from Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni struck a young supporter during Sunday’s match against Racing Santander, prompting a post-match gesture from the players to comfort the child. The incident occurred in the 50th minute when a powerful attempt by the French international sailed into the stands, hitting 4-year-old Maximo Javier in the face, as reported by the child’s father in Marca.

Following the final whistle of the 3-0 victory, Tchouaméni and teammate Kylian Mbappé sought out the boy and his father to ensure he was unharmed. According to reports cited by Marca, the club arranged for the family to meet the players near the locker room area, where Tchouaméni apologized and gifted the child his match-worn, signed jersey.

Mbappé’s lighthearted response to the incident

The boy’s father confirmed in comments later published by the Spanish sports newspaper Marca that his son was “perfectly fine” and that the situation was nothing more than a momentary fright. He expressed his gratitude toward the Real Madrid players for their quick response and concern for his son’s well-being.

Real Madrid defeats Racing Santander to maintain third place

The result keeps Madrid in third place in the La Liga standings, sitting three points behind leaders Barcelona and one point adrift of second-placed Atlético Madrid.
