Real Madrid talents Kylian Mbappe and Arda Guler have focused their attention on Sunday’s El Clasico versus Barcelona.

After a 4-1 Champions League victory over RB Leipzig, both players emphasized the importance of the match as Jose Mourinho’s side looks to close the six-point difference in La Liga.

Mbappe spoke after Madrid’s Champions League match against RB Leipzig, explaining how the team had carefully avoided distractions prior to the European game.

Mbappe describes Real Madrid’s strategy to El Clasico.

According to FCB World, Mbappe recognized that playing against Barcelona is different from other games.

“El Clasico is completely different,” the French forward explained.

“We were solely focusing about the Leipzig match. We can plan ahead of time what will happen on Sunday.”

Mbappe claimed that the side had not let the forthcoming Clasico affect its preparations for Leipzig.

“Before that, the team wasn’t thinking about Sunday’s match.”

Mourinho always emphasizes the importance of players focusing on what is directly ahead of them.

As a manager, he may be forced to consider the Barcelona game while making lineup changes, but his players cannot afford to be distracted.

Arda Guler is sure that Madrid can rival Barcelona

Guler was equally explicit about Madrid’s intentions when asked about the Barcelona game.

“It’s a big match, a high-level match, and we’ll give it our all to win,” the Turkey midfielder said.

He also spoke about the expectations that come with representing Real Madrid.

“We are Real Madrid, and we must win every match. “We’re ready.”

For Barcelona, it sends a clear message that Los Blancos are entirely focused on the Barça match and intend to give it their all.

Madrid cannot afford to slip farther behind in the title battle, especially since Flick’s team currently has a six-point lead.

The Catalan club must ensure that they accomplish just that. Barcelona should provide a statement performance on Sunday to successfully convey a message to the rest of La Liga.

A win would increase their advantage to nine points and provide a big psychological lift following their defeat against PSG.

Sunday’s game promises to be entertaining for both Barcelona and Madrid fans, and it remains to be seen how it will play out.
