Jose Mourinho stunned by what Jude Bellingham does every day at Real Madrid

Jose Mourinho has been left stunned by Jude Bellingham's attitude and work ethic at Real Madrid's training ground.

Mourinho returned to Los Blancos for a second spell in the summer and has had the tough task of managing some of the biggest personalities in world football, with Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr and Bellingham all key members of the Real squad.

But it's emerged that the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager has been particularly impressed by the application of England star Bellingham.

Jude Bellingham is the last one to leave Real Madrid's training ground

A new report from Marcos Benito on El Chiringuito has detailed the professionalism the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder has been displaying - revealing that he regularly spends up to eight hours a day at the club's Valdebebas training complex.

It's noted that Mourinho has been astonished by the commitment of Bellingham, who is always the last player to leave the facility after staying behind.

His teammates have also been amazed by the 23-year-old's exemplary dedication and the positive impact it can have on the rest of the group.

Bellingham struggled last season, when he played through the pain, but has returned to form with seven goal contributions in 11 appearances.

He is set to be rewarded with a new and improved contract tying him down at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2031.

That extension is poised to be announced soon and will see Bellingham remain at the 15-time European champions until the age of 28.

Jose Mourinho is utilising Jude Bellingham in his best role

Bellingham has played a number of positions for Real, including as a false nine. But Mourinho has made it clear that he believes Bellingham is best as an attacking midfielder who crashes the box.

While Bellingham is versatile and has played deeper, Mourinho feels it negates his best qualities.

Speaking in August after the league opener against Espanyol, Mourinho spoke about Bellingham and said: "He's very strong physically and mentally. I expect him to connect with the attackers. He has an eye for goal; he needs to play close to the goal.

"He can play deeper, but then we lose his ability to get forward. I like the Jude who, with top physical condition, creates those chances.

"And Fede (Valverde) can also get into that position, but when he plays alongside Bernardo, he has to be more focused, and we lose that a bit."

Of late, Mourinho has found a way to play both Bellingham and Arda Guler in the same side - the pair alternating roles in the 4-1 trouncing of Sevilla at the weekend.

Real return to action on Wednesday when they host RB Leipzig in the Champions League, hoping to make it three wins from three.
