Coventry City manager Frank Lampard has praised Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi for his technical quality, professionalism and contribution to Everton during their time together.
Iwobi scored 11 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions under Lampard, primarily playing in midfield. The Nigerian joined Everton from Arsenal in 2019 but initially struggled before improving his performances.
Responding to Iwobi’s claim that he had resurrected his career at Everton, Lampard said, “Resurrecting seems too strong, but I’ll let him say those words because he was always a good player, maybe in a tough moment at Everton.”
Lampard said Iwobi’s quality and consistency quickly became evident, praising his ability to play different roles, particularly during Everton’s battle against relegation.
He also highlighted the midfielder’s influence on matches and contribution to the team. “Alex Iwobi is very, very high on that list,” Lampard said when discussing players who had made a significant difference to their teams.
