Kansas coach Bill Self said that he didn't condone chants from the KU student section Wednesday night as the Jayhawks hosted Louisville in an exhibition game.
The game was former Kansas forward Flory Bidunga's first time in Allen Fieldhouse since transferring to Louisville in the offseason. Bidunga was greeted with boos as he ran out onto the court before the game, and then there were chants of "f*** you Flory" that emanated from the crowd before and during the Cardinals' win.
As the chants began before the game, you could see Self comprehend what was happening as he greeted members of the Louisville coaching staff before turning to the student section with a look of displeasure. He then appeared to say "my apologies" to Louisville coach Pat Kelsey.

After the game, Self said he expected and understood why Bidunga would get booed. But that anything else was "uncalled for."
"I actually expected Flory to get booed," Self told reporters after the game. "Anything beyond that is uncalled for. But I expected him to get booed and you know what … he transfers or I take another job or something, you go back to that place, that's what happens. That's the way it should be. That's what creates interest.
"Flory knows that. But anything beyond that, I don't agree with at all. Especially when — he gave us two really good years and he's a terrific kid. I think it's that people react a certain way. If he wasn't any good, nobody would care. People care. So that's part of it.
"But anything more than that, no I wouldn't appreciate."
Bidunga was one of the most high-profile transfers of the college basketball offseason. He averaged 13 points and nine rebounds a game in 2025-26 as he was named the Big 12's defensive player of the year.
"They're rooting for Kansas, I understand," Bidunga said after the game. "Fans are going to be fans. They want Kansas to be great, they'll do whatever it has to take — even saying, well you all heard what they said. But I didn't pay attention. We had a mission, we came here, you all saw my teammates take care of the ball, take care of the game, so I'm really excited and proud of them."
