Whilst Khvicha Kvaratskhelia may not return this season for Paris Saint-Germain, the other two injuries sustained by PSG players on Tuesday night were less serious.
The 4-2 win over Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League came at a cost. Kvaratskhelia sustained an ACL injury, potentially season-ending, in the second half. Prior to that Ousmane Dembélé withdrew with a hamstring injury, whilst Marquinhos was also forced off with a muscle problem.
Dembélé’s absence is estimated at around three weeks. The Ballon d’Or winner will miss the games against Olympique Lyonnais, Le Havre AC, Villarreal, and ESTAC Troyes. It remains to be seen whether he will be fit to feature for France during the international break. L’Équipe understands that it is unlikely that Dembélé will be fit enough to feature. Zinédine Zidane will announce his squad on 6th November.
Les Bleus face Italy on 12th November and Turkiye on 15th November. In any case, L’Équipe understands that Dembélé will once again be operational following the conclusion of the international break.
