Houston Texans wide receiver Kayshon Boutte was clearly happy to see his former teammate, New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, win the AFC Offensive Player of the Month award.
Boutte reposted the news to his Instagram story on Thursday.
Maye won the award after an impressive four-game stretch in October. Through four games, the third-year gunslinger racked up 1,199 passing yards, 12 touchdowns and only two interceptions. He also rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
One of those games includes Maye outdueling quarterback Josh Allen at Orchard Park to hand the Buffalo Bills their first loss at the new Highmark Stadium.
Boutte, who was traded before the start of the season, was a player that Patriots fans hoped the team would consider keeping, despite the crowded wide receiver room. Those of that opinion probably feel even more emboldened with the run of injuries the team has endured through eight games.
It would have been a game-changer to have another big-bodied receiving target that Maye trusts, like Boutte, to contribute while both A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs are sidelined with injuries.
