Russell Martin has three wins from his last four games in charge of Leicester City and a huge part of that has been Sammy Braybrooke.
Although Braybrooke didn’t start the Foxes’ 3-0 win against Wigan Athletic on Tuesday, they looked significantly better when he came on as a second half substitute.
Add the Leicester academy graduate’s three assists against Bromley and the role he played against Doncaster Rovers too, it is evident that he needs to be in the starting XI for this weekend’s game against Stevenage.

Which Leicester City star has impressed you the most this season and why?
When it comes to the stats comparing Braybrooke’s involvement to other members of the Leicester squad, it is clear that the 22-year-old is one of the most effective.
| Statistic | Sammy Braybrooke | Louis Page | Will Alves |
|---|---|---|---|
| Appearances | 12 | 11 | 12 |
| Assists | 4 | 3 | 1 |
| Chances created | 20 | 15 | 20 |
| Expected assists (xA) | 2.4 | 2.6 | 2.8 |
| FotMob rating | 7.26 | 7.13 | 7.22 |
Not only is he outperforming his xA, he is also on par with Will Alves for the most chances created. While Martin may have played him further forward on some occasions, this is more impressive as he is usually at the base of the midfield with John Lundstram.
This is exactly where the former England youth international should be playing as it allows him to utilise his biggest asset, which is dictating the tempo of the play.
When you watch Leicester this season you will always see him around, popping off one or two yard passes before unleashing a long-range one to the wingers. His footballing IQ is very high and he is the reason Leicester tick.
With Lundstram back and the Foxes at home to a side that will let them have the ball this weekend, that midfield trio, which includes Louis Page, will be the heartbeat of the team. If the other two let Braybrooke on the ball and work his magic, then there is no reason why we won’t be celebrating another win for the Foxes.
