The Arizona Cardinals lost a wide receiver to a season-ending injury during a 30-16 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
Cardinals wide receiver Jalen Brooks wrote on his Instagram story that he underwent emergency wrist surgery. "I don't need any phone calls.. just prayers," Brooks wrote on social media. "I'll be done for the season God is in control of my next steps much love ❤️."
Brooks had been in line for more work in Arizona after the team traded away Marvin Harrison Jr. He played 64% of the snaps against Denver, hauling in one reception for 35 yards before his injury.
The former seventh-round draft pick of the Dallas Cowboys had totaled five catches for 81 yards with the Cardinals this fall. Arizona's remaining top receivers are Michael Wilson, Kendrick Bourne and Reggie Virgil.
Broncos receiver Jaylen Waddle also suffered a chest injury on Sunday, and we're still awaiting word on the severity of that injury. Denver's scheduled to hold its first practice of the week on Wednesday.
