After over three years in OX4, joining in February 2023, Benson has joined Burton Albion as their new chief executive officer.

The Brewers' new CEO previously worked for rugby clubs Wasps and Gloucester as CCO after two separate stints at Reading FC whilst the club was in the Premier League and Championship.

Benson told his new club's website: "I am incredibly proud to be entrusted with the role of chief executive officer at Burton Albion and would like to thank chairman Wouter Gudde and the ownership group for the opportunity.

“It was clear from the very first conversation that the club and its vision is aligned with my own values of ambition, hard work and integrity.

"I can’t wait to get started and look forward to working with the wider team, club partners and the fans.”

Burton currently sit 11th in League One after a good start to the season.

However, they were recently defeated by Aaron Ramsey's Oxford, losing 3-0 at the Kassam Stadium in September.

The U's face high-flying Stockport County on Tuesday night.
