In the first two weeks of the 2026-27 NBA season, we've been treated to stellar scoring performances from the league's top talent. While names like Luka Doncic, Steph Curry and many others have already lit up the scoreboard, several notable rookies have done the same. This includes Yaxel Lendeborg and Darius Acuff, who have both made headlines early in their debut seasons.
However, the impact of a few of the NBA's best scoring duos so far can't be overstated. This is especially true for the Los Angeles Lakers, who are fueled by Doncic and backcourt mate Austin Reaves. As NBATV highlighted, the Doncic/Reaves duo is the highest-scoring pair of teammates, averaging 60.8 points per game. Curry and Lendeborg are behind them at 51.5 ppg, but the No. 3 duo on the list really jumps out.
Darius Acuff and Zach LaVine.
While Acuff's nightly scoring has been a storyline in itself, he's averaged 26.1 points and 6.3 assists over the Sacramento Kings' first seven games. However, LaVine has flown under the radar a bit, averaging 23.4 points per game (their average dropped by 0.3 ppg since the initial graphic). The Kings currently have two top-20 scorers, with Acuff at No. 9 and LaVine at No. 18.
As impressive as both players have been amid the Kings' early-season struggles, LaVine has shot an impressive 50.5% from the field. However, highlighting how stellar Doncic has been this year, LaVine's shooting percentage is only slightly above his (49.7%), and the Lakers star is averaging 38.3 points in seven games.
