Cordina, 34, was found not guilty of assault by beating against Jamie O'Brien, 33, following a trial at Cardiff Magistrates' Court.
District Judge Charlotte Murphy ruled that Cordina had acted in self-defense, saying she was "satisfied" he believed it was necessary to use force to protect himself.
"I am further satisfied that a single, measured, controlled punch was proportionate in the circumstances," Murphy said.
"It is very easy to consider the defendant's response by considering the CCTV in slow motion, however the defendant had a split second to consider his response to the shoulder barge."
Shortly after the trial, Cordina released a statement on social media saying he was “hugely relieved to now put this behind him” and that his focus was now “on the future and getting back in the ring”.
Cordina’s lawyer, Nadeem Majid, also confirmed his client's desire to return to the ring on December 11, on the undercard of Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
Eddie Hearn, Cordina’s promoter, told BoxingScene last month that he had offered Hall of Famer Manny Pacquiao the chance to face Cordina on the card. Cordina’s canceled title shot against Mason is another option for the December event.
