Graham Turner, a fencing and forestry contractor, will represent Team GB at the STIHL Timbersports World Championship, taking place in Stuttgart, Germany, on October 30 and 31.
It will be his fifth appearance at the event.
Mr Turner said: "I've had the opportunity to compete internationally quite a bit over the last couple of years, and every event teaches you something.
"The World Championship is always a big occasion, and we've got a good group of athletes heading to Stuttgart.
"We set a national record last year, so hopefully, we can build on that and put in another strong performance."
Mr Turner has achieved two podium finishes at the British Pro Championship and competed at the 2026 World Trophy, finishing 14th.
He will join a six-strong British squad including reigning British champion Glen Penlington, Rowan Luxton, Jack Morris, George Spencer, and Tom Redmond.
The team finished seventh at the 2025 World Championship and will be aiming to improve on that result in Stuttgart.
The Team World Championship takes place on Friday, October 30, with 18 countries competing in a fast-paced relay across four technical disciplines: Stock Saw, Underhand Chop, Single Buck, and Standing Block Chop.
Each round tests speed, strength, and precision, with teams racing against the clock in a knockout format.
