HARRY Parsons scored the only goal of the game as Bath City beat fellow high-fliers Poole 1-0 to maintain their promotion push in Southern League Premier Division South
Parsons netted a fine strike 18 minutes into the match when he was teed up by Joe Raynes after Poole had only half-cleared a Jordan Tillson free-kick.
Romans manager Scott Bartlet saw his side go close to a second, while the visitors had chances too, but one goal was enough for the hosts.
Bath have 29 points from 14 games to lie third in the table – one point and one place better off than Poole – while Hanworth have 30 points from 15 matches and leaders Uxbridge 32 from 13.
Elsewhere, Frome were undone 3-2 by visiting Chichester in a game where all the goals were scored in the second period.
Albie Hopkins put the home side ahead, but Emmett Dunn and Brandon Chebby (2) hit back for Chichester in clinical fashion. Corey Evans reduced the deficit to one, but the hosts could not find a late equaliser.
Mitchell Aston’s 22nd-minute strike was good enough to give Havant & Waterlooville a 1-0 win at home to Taunton, while Yate were sunk 2-0 away to table- toppers Uxbridge, who had Troy Perez-Duah and Jack Burchell on the mark. Bottom-of-the-table Chippenham also met with a 2-0 defeat, in their case falling to a Joe Smith double away to Wimborne.
Meanwhile fourth-placed Salisbury remain in the thick of the National League South promotion battle following a 2-1 success at Tonbridge Angels on Saturday afternoon.
Bailey Akehurst put Tonbridge into an early lead, but the Whites had turned things around by the half-hour mark through Jordan Alonge and Malachi Ogunleye.
Weston-super-Mare, however, were beaten 2-0 at Dorking as Brennan Camp and Dawid Rogalski claimed the goals.
